# What is PokeDAO?

**PokeDAO** is a community for Pokemon Fanatics and Lovers calling the Cardano Blockchain its home.&#x20;

Our mission is to bring together Pokemon enthusiasts under one banner, united by our shared experiences and desires to engage with other likeminded individuals.

This is a fun project and hopefully the start of a community intended to promote positivity and everything Pokemon!

The project will begin with the release of our PokeDAO **Battle Dexes** which each represent access to 1 of the **151 Generation 1 Pokemon** as well as access to the community.

The first step on our roadmap focuses around the development of a sophisticated **Discord Bot** that will interface with our NFTs and allow us to do the following:

* **Battling**: Members can challenge each other in real-time Pokemon battles using simple Discord commands. Each Pokemon has its own set of moves, strengths, and weaknesses just like in the original games.
* **Growth & Evolution**: Winning battles or participating in events earns experience points (XP) for the Pokemon. Collect enough XP, and your Pokemon evolves or learns new moves.
* **Training Grounds**: Dedicated channels where users can train their Pokemon, learn new tactics, and even find wild Pokemon to add to their team for strategic advantages.
